What makes this property so special
The property is beautifully and purposefully integrated with the Afromontane vegetation. Guests enjoy the tranquillity and temporary relief from the summer sun in a cape fynbos garden at the back of the property. For starry nights there is a magnificent “boma” (the safari term for round fire-pit) constructed from Table Mountain sandstone.
There is a great deal of interest in Scarborough and surrounding neighbourhoods. Majestic scenery, Cape Point Nature Reserve, a perfect, uncrowded white sand beach that is Scarborough; hiking, swimming, biking, surfing, horse back riding ….. all within a small, laid back suburb.

The property manages a comprehensive alarm system and round the clock security services are available. The pool is equipped with a child safety cover. There are deck railings. Parents are expected to supervise small children at all times. The property cannot accept liability for accidents and injury to guests.
On occasion, a troop of baboons visit the coastal towns and suburbs of this part of the Cape Peninsula. The troop is monitored all year round by a dedicated team. Scarborough is remarkable on so many levels!! A truly good bunch of people live and play here. There are extensive mountain walks accessible from foot paths just up the street. The beaches are sublime with excellent surf breaks and a favourite kite-boarding spot when wind permits. The Village Hub is a perfect one-stop-shop just 2 minutes walk from the house. It has a gorgeous restaurant with excellent food and views for early evening sundowners. It houses a coffee shop; a deli with freshly made meals for those on the run; Cape Point Bakery breads and Franz’s micro-brewery. You will hear languages spoken from all around the world on a daily basis. It buzzes! The Camel Rock right next door does fish braais, burger nights, a Tuesday night market, live music and a beer garden. A total win! Then there’s the Whole Earth Café which is only open during the day – best breakfasts ever! If you take a walk to the end of Scarborough beach you’ll hit the Cape Point Reserve game fence – sometimes you will get to watch the Bontebok up close, or ostriches and sometimes even zebra. Two Cape Leopards have recently been released into the reserve – they haven’t been spotted yet, but we’re keeping a look out for them.
Nearby
The uber popular neighbourhoods / coastal towns of Noordhoek, Kalkbay, Kommetjie and Simonstown have so much to offer. More uncrowded white sand beaches, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding: fine dining to laid back restaurants to farmer’s markets; an abundance of kid’s activities; epic surf, and the headquarters of the Cape Penguin …. This is the land of My Octopus Teacher!
Getting around
You can get anywhere in the village on foot, and within just a few minutes. You definitely need a vehicle for getting further afield. Public transport is not a strong point in Scarborough, but you can
