Self-catering 6 Bedroom (6 bathrooms) luxury, modern country home overlooking the Goukou river, 7km upstream from the mouth and beaches of Stilbaai. Koningsfontien provides exclusive river access. Guests can pursue a dual holiday “strategy” of relaxing in nature and exploring the vibrant seaside town of Stilbaai and its many activities on offer. An idyllic family getaway on the Garden route (4 hours from Cape Town). Well behaved dogs are welcome by prior arrangement.

THE SPACE
Cape Dutch farm-style architecture with large windows with views of the river, hills, and neighbouring pastures. The homestead is fully equipped with all necessary facilities, including a large open-plan living area, spacious bedrooms, a modern kitchen, and generous outdoor entertainment spaces. The property sleeps a maximum of twelve people over a configuration of 4 double beds and 4 singled beds, across 6 bedrooms (and 6 bathrooms).

The Stilbaai community has implemented security measures, including surveillance cameras, to enhance safety in the area. These cameras are actively used to investigate incidents and serve as a deterrent to potential criminal activity.

This property is pet friendly. Guests are required to make such requests at the time the reservation is made. A maximum of three dogs per guest group are permitted. Guests are asked to bring their dogs’ bedding / baskets and ensure they do not use the furniture. 

There are neighbouring farms with livestock. Dogs that tend to roam, and / or are aggressive to humans and animals should not be brought to the property. Thanks! We love dogs, it is just a bit more complicated.

For those who enjoy a bit of fishing, there is a catch-and-release protection policy in place, to preserve the bass population of the water. If you do not have your own boat, there is 15 HP serviced Linder Sportsman 400 for hire. Great for easy river cruising with a 15hp engine, so you don’t need a skipper’s license. 3 x Fishing rods for bass dam – catch and release only.

Boat Hire Policy: Subject to availability. A security deposit and rental are agreed before use. Only persons with adequate experience, over the age of 25 years, may drive the boat. The property’s caretaker, Hastings, will supply petrol and related supplies.

stilbaai is a seaside town going through a growth spurt and transitioning from an out & out retirement village to a proper town. On arrival guests are given a property manual containing information including restaurant recommendations, places of interest, diving and boat excursions, surf scene, beaches and more.
