Noordhoek is located close to the M65 highway linking the southern peninsula with the rest of Cape Town (40 min drive). Noordhoek, Fish Hoek, Kommetjie, Glencairn, Kalk Bay, Simonstown and Scarborough are affectionately called “the deep south”. There is a strong argument for taking one’s entire Cape Town vacation in this area. The southern peninsula is a microcosm of the best of the Cape with a rural feel and a laidback seaside atmosphere. From fine dining restaurants to informal fish & chips to picnic baskets on a wine farm. There is world class surf and kite surfing; mountain biking, golf courses; the ever-popular boulders beach (penguins); scuba dive schools and deep-sea fishing charters. Explore the many hiking trails in Cape Point and Silvermine Nature Reserves – places to experience and see the Cape floral kingdom (Fynbos). Arrange a group horseback ride on a huge, uncrowded, pristine white sand beach. You’ll find excellent yoga and Pilates studios, art studios, health & wellness centres. Noordhoek and Kommetjie host farmer’s markets; micro-breweries and gin distilleries; and award-winning wine estates. An intelligent base to experience the best of the Cape!
